About Us

Hillside Program is a Catholic home school community that meets once a week to instruct our children in the Catholic classical tradition. The Hillside Program is faithful to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church.

Our Mission

To build a Christ-centered community of homeschooling families committed to raising children who are fully alive in Christ, preparing them intellectually and spiritually to understand, practice, and defend the Faith by enriching their home education through classical ideas and instruction, participation in the Roman Catholic Church’s liturgical life, and social gatherings.

The Holy Family, Our Patrons

HOLY FAMILY OF NAZARETH, make our family one with you. Help us to be instruments of peace. Grant that love, strengthened by grace, may prove mightier than all the weaknesses and trials through which our families sometimes pass. May we always have God at the center of our hearts and homes until we are all one family, happy and at peace in our true home with you. Amen.

Our Story

In 2019, several families in the Glen Cove area who home school created a small Catholic community to enrich and expand their children’s education.  In our first year, we offered a single day of instruction in Latin, Religious Studies, and Music for grades K-8.  Now in our second year, we expanded our program and our community to include Science, Literature and History from grades K through High School.  As parents our role is the primary educator of our children and we also endeavor to create a dynamic community which enriches our children through a classical, liberal arts program, embraces and promotes the truths of the Catholic faith and Catholic culture, and engenders a love of learning.  We did not set out to teach our children everything, rather to give them the ability to appreciate their God given talents, to enable them to learn anything, teach them how to think and become fully human.
